make a wish

Remember when we were little and would look up and feel surrounded by this vast open sky filled with bright shiny objects. Mom and Dad always suggested we close our eyes and make a wish. This meant something up above had the capabilities to make our wishes come true if we believed. What are all those twinklers? All kids love shiny things but when we can't touch them our imaginations soar. God lives up there and He grants wishes if we are good, right?
Astronomers were very influential with royalty in years past. Nostradamus is one of my favorites. Then fear of too much power took hold of new leaders and they banished astrological influences as important. That does not mean it never existed. We still have a choice to follow the concept of being affected by the planets.

Mercury rules Virgo, an earth sign, and Gemini, an air sign, and relates to negotiations, communication, agreements, contracts, buying and selling and parts of moving machines (autos, appliances) and encourages us to reflect on past relationships.
Uranus rules Aquarius, an air sign, disrupts our current way of thinking, causing unexpected and fast changes, breaks old attitudes, promotes order and controls our destiny.
Pluto rules Scorpio, a water sign, does the opposite of Uranus in that it brings us to new levels of awareness, bringing rebirth and transformation.
Venus rules Libra, an air sign, and Taurus, an earth sign, helps us realize the need for our relationships, affection, harmony and encourages us to decide what is good/bad for our needs, what attracts/repels us and helps us to reflect on our values.
Neptune rules Pisces, a water sign, honoring our dreams, fantasies and unlimited possibilities.
Jupiter rules Sagittarius, a fire sign, and is the giver of good luck, gifts, fortune, and is influential in expanding our growth, development and finding our place in the world.
Saturn rules Capricorn, an earth sign, and opposite of Jupiter in that it retracts our being by teaching us hard life lessons which are usually painful but nevertheless required for our growth and potential to overcome obstacles, gain self-discipline and fulfill our karma.
Mars rules Aries, a fire sign, and is the action planet necessary for survival and achieving our desires.
The Moon rules Cancer, a water sign, guiding us to follow our protective instincts, reactions, emotional responses and deals with our home issues and sense of belonging.
The Sun rules Leo, a fire sign, a motivating force to take action as to the person we seek to become and how we mature.

There are so many details and specific changes based on how the stars are aligned with the planets and the moon, sun and eclipses which is why some people have astrological charts made up. When a planet is said to be direct, it is moving in a full force that becomes highly influential, but when retrograde, the influence is much slower as if it is sleeping or at rest for awhile. After dabbling in many astrological sites, my family has found Astrology Zone by Susan Miller to be very accurate. She will be speaking in our area November 15 on Mag Mile. This truly is an art to be mastered and if we want another avenue to bring a clearer understanding as to why things occur, especially if extraordinary, we need to look to our skies and notice how each night our skies looks different, remembering that nothing is constant but change.
